Students and families in Great Oaks-affiliated school districts who are interested in the Project SEARCH program, designed for students with disabilities, can now take an online look at the worksites at 5/3 Bank Operations Center, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and Xavier University.  The virtual open house includes videos of students in action, information about the program and instructors, and links to the online application and other details.

Project SEARCH is a business-led transition program designed for students transitioning from high school to the world of work.  It is targeted for students whose main goal is competitive employment and who will benefit from career exploration.  The cornerstone of the one school-year program is immersion in a large business or organization.  The students learn employability and job skills while participating in a variety of unpaid internship-site rotations that build skills toward competitive employment.   Individualized job development and placement occurs based on the student’s experiences, strengths, and skills.  Students are given support with on-the-job coaching.
