Students and staff from Laurel Oaks Career Campus attended the recent Wilmington Rotary Club meeting to receive honors for their participation in this year’s Cardboard City event. Laurel Oaks Cybrarian Sandra Broderick and Digital Arts and Design instructor Brandan Ellars were accompanied by Eliyah Bowles and Katelyn Boysel to receive a trophy from the Rotary Club for the Most Creative Structure.
During the Cardboard City event, students have the chance to have brief exposure to homeless life; as part of the event they also raise funds for the Clinton County Homeless Shelter. The Laurel
Oaks students raised $1100 to the Shelter this year.
Eliyah Bowles is a senior from Wilmington; Katelyn Boysel is a senior from East Clinton. They are both enrolled in the Digital Arts and Design program at Laurel Oaks.
