Dan Cox, Dean of the Live Oaks Career Campus, was presented with the Education Award at last week’s “Salute to Leaders” meeting of Clermont 20/20, Inc.
As winner of the annual award, Cox was praised as an educational leader and as a role model to both staff and students.
Given every year since 1994, the Education Award is presented to an individual or organization that has made a contribution in the educational field. Under Cox’s leadership, Live Oaks serves more than 500 students each year in a wide range of educational career-oriented programs, from animal science to biotechnology to heavy equipment operations and engineering to veterinary assisting. Students who complete programs at Live Oaks go on to work or college; more than 96% of the Great Oaks class of 2006 is working in their career field or continuing their education.
Clermont 20/20, Inc. is a group of residents working together to improve the quality of life in Clermont County. The group’s origins were in a citizens’ advisory board formed in 1988; the name was changed to Clermont 20/20 in 2002.
