According to the Department of Labor, www.lmi.state.oh.us, “the outlook for medical records and health information technicians is expected to increase by 18% through 2016-faster than average for all occupations-because of the rapid growth in the number of medical tests, treatments and procedures that will be increasingly scrutinized by insurance companies, regulators and consumers.  Job prospects should be very good.  Technicians with a strong background in medical coding will be in particularly high demand.”
