On Saturday, September 6th students and staff enjoyed the Annual Corn Festival held at the Clinton County Fairgrounds in Wilmington. As a community involvement event, Laurel Oaks entered a student and a staff team, both competing on Saturday night in the "famed" Corn Olympics. The Olympics hosts a number of events including: Out-house Races; Tricycle Races; Wife (significant other) Carry; and the Obstacle Course. Laurel Oaks Teams took second (staff) and third (students) in the out-house race, first in the tricycle race (staff), third in the wife carry (staff), and third in the obstacle course (staff). This netted an overall Second Place (staff) in this year’s Corn Olympics! Everyone attending and competing truly enjoyed the festivities.
