Project SEARCH Adult Employment Program

Program Description:

Serving as a single point of entry, Project SEARCH coordinates employment initiatives between healthcare organizations and agencies for adults with disabilities.  After matching qualified individuals with employment opportunities we coordinate and provide on-the-job support such as job coaching, adaptations and accommodations, final task definitions, and travel training.  We also maintain the employment status through on-site follow along service and provide opportunities for career advancement.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A minimum of 18 years old
  • Desire to work in a healthcare setting
  • Willingness to access independent transportation options
  • Basic communication skills
  • Appropriate social, grooming and hygiene skills
  • Independent toileting and feeding skills
  • Ability to pass drug screen and felony check
  • Updated immunizations

 Program Steps:

  • Identify open healthcare position(s)
  • Job Analysis/ identification of essential functions
  • Research possibility of job clusters
  • Match job to qualified candidate
  • Identify accommodations and adaptations
  • Coordinate job coaching during initial phases of employment
  • Adapt orientation for new employees, co-workers and supervisors
  • Provide retention and career advancement opportunities
