ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY/SIGMA OMEGA CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship to outstanding Greater Cincinnati high school students of color who exhibit a record of the following: Academic excellence, community/church volunteer service, extra-curricular activities, exceptional leadership potential.  This year the awards are for outstanding African American female students. BOUND TREE MEDICAL LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Applicant must be the son/daughter of a career or volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, or Firefighter (active, retired or deceased) who is interested in a career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). CIA UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLAR PROGRAM

CINCINNATI SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

Need based with minimum GPA requirements.  Applications available from Mrs. Coleman in MID JANUARY. 80 DIFFERENT SCHOLARSHIPS with one application; they try to help as many students as possible. Deadline is April 30, 2008.

 

CINCINNATI STATE UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship consideration is based on grades (3.0 GPA), employment, volunteer/community service activities, career goals, letters of recommendation, and available funding.  Various scholarships available.  APPLICATION FOR SCHOLARSHIPS INCLUDED IN CINCINNATI STATE BULLETIN.  Deadline: March 1, 2008.

 

 

 

 

CIRCUIT SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship available if student is an IT major at local university.  See Mrs. Coleman for application.  Application with written explanation of goals plus two letters of recommendations required.  Deadline: December 31, 2007.

 

COLLEGIATE SCHOLARS – Collegiate Scholarship Program 2008

Detailed application process for student with a 2.5 GPA who might otherwise be overlooked in the scholarship process. The student must answer detailed questions in a precise format. Applications will be available from Mrs. Coleman in Student Services. Scholarships vary from $100 to over $1,000.  Deadline is March 2008.

 

DAVIS PUTTER SCHOLARSHIP

Awards up to $6,000. Based on financial need. For students who are able to do academic work at the college level and are actively working for peace and justice. Davis-Putter scholars are both graduate and undergraduate students and must be living in the U.S. and planning to enroll in an accredited school. IFSEA  (International Food Service Executive Association) SCHOLARSHIP

HAMILTON COUNTY SCHOOL EMPLOYEES CREDIT UNION

Two scholarships available for school employees’ children and one scholarship available for all high school seniors who belong to a credit union in certain counties.  Application available from Mrs. Coleman in Student Services.  Scholarship awards from $500-$1,000.  Deadline:  February 11,2008.  Also, Thurs, Feb. 7th the Credit Union is offering a Student Loan seminar at the main office.  Call 542-8950 for more information.

 

HOXWORTH BLOOD CENTER SCHOLARSHIPS

Six $1,000 scholarships awarded to graduating seniors based on academics, community service [emphasis on applicants’ involvement in community blood-drive], school-related activities, and essay “The Value of Blood Donation as a Personal and Community Responsibility.” GPA 2.5. LOVELAND AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Two $2,000 scholarships to seniors living in the Loveland City School District will be given to the student that excels in these areas: academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community services.  Financial need will also be taken into consideration.  The Patricia Furterer Scholarship is given to the student who best exemplifies the character of Patricia Furterer, a long-time resident, former Executive Director of the Chamer, 2002 Valentine Lady, Loveland Stage Company Producer, and Loveland promoter, and enthusiast.  Academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service, and financial need will also be taken into consideration.  See Mrs. Coleman for application in February.  Deadline:  March 23, 2008.

 

MARIE MCKEOWN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

MILDRED S. STUEBER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

McKeown--$1,000 scholarship to students enrolled in Administrative/Office Technology studies at an accredited college in the Tri-State area (Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky), Superior Citizenship and Character, Academic Achievement, and Financial Need. 

Stueber--$1,000 scholarship to students enrolled in Administrative/Office Technology studies at the University of Cincinnati or a branch of UC with the same qualifications as above.  To apply, submit the following:  1) cover letter stating goals and financial need. 2) Short resume that includes educational background and accomplishments, work experience, outside interests, and pertinent information relative to a career as an Administrative Professional.  3)  Letter of recommendation from a faculty member concerning ability, character, potential for college work, and potential for contribution to the administrative field. MASON KIWANIS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

Three $4,000 college scholarships ($1,000 per year for 4 years) and four $1,000 non-renewable college scholarships to high school graduates who reside in the Mason City School District. Eligibility: At least a 2.75 GPA and a full time student at an accredited institution.  Community service, leadership, financial need, and written recommendations will be taken into consideration.  Students must fill out an application, have four recommendations, and attach a transcript. OHIO ACTE – DARRELL PARKS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The Ohio Association of Career and Technical Education is proud to offer the Darrell Parks Scholarship.  The $1,000 award will be held in escrow until the recipient has successfully completed a term of higher education course work.  Upon the submission of an official transcript to the Ohio ACTE office/treasurer, a one-time scholarship will be sent to the recipient.  Applications available from Mrs. Coleman in Student Services.  Deadline: April 2, 2008.

OHIO CREDIT UNION LEAGUE (Cincinnati Chapter)

Nine scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each for applicants who are members of a credit union in Hamilton, Adams, Clermont or Brown County. Deadline: February, 15, 2008.

 

OHIO NEWSPAPER FOUNDATION

OHIO WAR ORPANS SCHOLARSHIP – Ohio Board of Regents

Scholarship for children of disabled or deceased war veterans and children of persons declared prisoners of war or missing in action in Southeast Asia AND attend an Ohio post second Ohio institution or nursing school.  Must be between 16-21. ORPHAN FOUNDATION OF AMERICA

SHARONVILLE FEDERATED WOMAN’S CLUB

SHARONVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT

Two $2,500 scholarships available to Residents of City of Sharonville OR Family Member of an Active or Honorary Sharonville Firefighter.  Community Service is of primary concern to the committee, not necessarily scholastic achievement.  Obtain application from Cindy Fuchs at the Main Fire Station in FEBRUARY, 11210 Reading Road, Sharon Road, Sharonville between the hours of 8 and 4 Monday through Friday.  Deadline: March 15, 2008.

THE WILLIAM D. SQUIRES EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION, INC. SCHOLARSHIPS

(12 - $3,000 renewable scholarships based on financial need and awarded only to OHIO students). WOMAN’S CITY CLUB OF GREATER CINCINNATI

The Agnes Seasongood Education Awards will again present three $500 awards to winning applicants from young women who are high school seniors.  These awards will be presented based on a brief essay as outlined in the application/entry and a brief recommendation by the teacher.  Presentation of the awards will be made at the annual Seasongood luncheon Friday, April 18, 2008, at the Vernon Manor Hotel in Cincinnati.  [students from Scarlet (Ms. Libbees’ classes)have won this award several years]Let’s keep the tradition going!!
