David Ellis is a 2004 graduate of Great Oaks' Automotive-Ford ASSET/Associate Degree (UC). Dave is employed at Kings Lincoln-Mercury as an automotive technician. Dave always had a strong interest in the automotive area and his uncle nurtured his interest and allowed him to get hands-on experience when he was a teenager. Dave was always working on cars. Dave's academic career started at University of Cincinnati where he majored in architecture. He then changed to construction management. But according to Dave, something was missing in his career pursuit. One day he visited Great Oaks and everything changed. He had been working in a warehouse for the past five years and knew he wanted to do something different. He toured the ASSET lab and spoke to the instructor and knew that this was the perfect program for him! It provided a blend of classroom lecture, hands-on and work experience. Dave says, "I love my dealer, love my job and I want to be one of the top technicians at Kings Lincoln-Mercury." Dave is a member of the ASSET advisory board and counsels members on ways to improve the program. His next career goal is to become a senior master technician.
