Alex (Wenisch) McCullough--1996 Animal Science--Sycamore H.S.

Alex Wenisch, a 1996 graduate from Sycamore High School, graduated from the two-year Veterinary Technology Program at the University of Cincinnati and is currently employed as a Senior Research Assistant at UC. She is working on a study for muscular dystrophy with a principal investigator. She is responsible for maintaining the animals, collecting and recording data, providing information to the investigator, and maintaining the research grant for the project.

Alex received a Gold Rating as an Animal Care Finalist in the National FFA Small Animal Care Proficiency Award and was one of the first students at Live Oaks to receive the American Degree through the National FFA Organization.  "Live Oaks has given me a large advantage in my career path, it has allowed me to advance in my field at a faster rate and opened up greater opportunities,” shared Alex.  “Employers saw that I already had 2 years of experience and knowledge when I entered the work force."
