Walter Medlock A strong mechanical aptitude led Walter Medlock to enroll

at Scarlet Oaks in Diesel Mechanics. “My senior instructor was a good influence on me. He was smart and practical,” Walt remembered.  He credits the Oaks with giving him an opportunity to start a career rather than pursue college. “That gave me a good mechanical background and a trade to fall back on,” he said.  Later, Walt attended night school to earn his associate’s degree from the University of Cincinnati.  Walt is working on a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from UC. He writes software programs for Advantech Corp.
