Ohio Concealed Carry Training Courses

This course is designed to provide the training necessary to apply for an Ohio Concealed Carry firearm permit which allows individuals to lawfully carry a firearm in the state of Ohio.  This program consists of 10 hours of instruction ito include dispute resolution, use of deadly force, safe handling of a handgun, safe handling and storage of ammunition, and the nomenclature and function of pistols and revolvers.  There is a written examination at the conclusion of the course.  The participant will also receive 2 hours of firing range instruction that includes proper use of a handgun at normal self-defense distances and live fire performance tests.

All instructors are certified by the Ohio Peace Officers Training Commission.

Qualifications:

  • You must be 21 or older at time of training.
  • You must present either an Ohio Driver's License or State of Ohio identification card at the beginning of class.
  • You must obtain a criminal background check and meet state requirements prior to issuance of a permit by your county sheriff office.
  • You will need a revolver or semiautomatic pistol and 200 rounds of ammunition.
  • DO NOT bring your firearm or ammunition onto Great Oaks property for the first day of training.  The firearms instructor will advise you when and how the firearm and ammunition are to be transported onto Great Oaks property.
  • FEE  $125.00  Payment due in advance of class (check, cash or credit cards are accepted).
  • Evening classes are held  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
  • Weekend classes are held  Saturday 8am to 5pm  and Sunday 8am to 12 noon.
