Highland County IDEA Center

Student Name:

Success Story:

Turning Point Applied Learning Center, Inc. was developed to provide pre-employment training for long-term unemployed, hard to employ, and under-employed people in Highland County.  Turning Point requires and provides actual hands-on work experience as a key part of their training program.  The day-to-day interaction with Turning Point staff allows participants to identify and resolve employment barriers.  Turning Point’s goal is to enable participants to become self-sufficient and to increase their opportunities for successful employment.

Judy Martin is a graduate of Turning Point.  While attending Turning Point, Judy excelled in production and leadership abilities.  Betty Bishop, Coordinator at Turning Point, selected Judy to apply for a custodial position at the North High Business Center in Hillsboro.  Judy has proven her abilities as a leader as she is now the janitorial supervisor at that facility.
