American Government
Students will study the U. S. Government and economy. The study incorporates the social studies benchmarks: history, people in societies, geography, economics, government, citizenship rights and responsibilities, and social studies skills and methods. Students study the historic roots of the political system and how it has changed over time. They will continue to develop an understanding of the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, as well as personal economic responsibilities. Students will demonstrate skills necessary for active and effective citizenship.

American Government
Students will study the history of the United States with emphasis on domestic affairs. This study will include: people in societies, geography, economics, government, citizenship rights and responsibilities, and social studies skills and methods. Students develop an understanding of their role as citizens and an understanding of the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
Human Relations In Organizations 1
This course emphasizes human interaction, dynamic factors, personal development as well as legal and ethical issues in the work place. The course will address the following skill sets; Communicating Effectively, Demonstrating Learning and Critical Thinking Skills, Maintaining Professional Skills and Attitudes, Practicing Human Relations Skills, Demonstrating Knowledge of Science and the Environment, Demonstrating Community, Cultural, and Global Awareness, and Maintaining a Code of Ethics.
Postsecondary Option: Human Relations In Organizations 2
Offered in partnership with Hocking College
Students who meet the qualification requirements may enroll in the Postsecondary Option. Students will earn high school credit for social studies as well as 3-quarter hours of credit from Hocking College upon successful completion of the course. This course covers concepts, skills and techniques, which relate to the human aspects of work.
Essentials of Social Studies
In this course students will study topics in history, people in societies, geography, economics, government, citizenship rights and responsibilities, and social studies skills and methods. This course is designed to prepare students for successful completion of the social studies section of the Ohio Graduation Test. Content will be based on the state standards for social studies.
Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps - 1 year course
The JROTC program is designed to teach the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling self-esteem, teamwork and self discipline. The program prepares students for responsible leadership roles while creating an awareness of personal rights, responsibilities, and privileges as American citizens. There is no military obligation for students who enroll in the JROTC program.
