Success Story:
Patrick Turner completed the Scarlet Oaks H.V.A.C.(Heating/Ventilating and Air Conditioning Program) in June 2000 and is employed at Jonle Heating-Cooling. Mr. Turner said that he entered this program because he was tired of lay-offs and wanted job security. He states that he always wanted to work in the H.V.A.C. field but his schedule never allowed it. After working as a pipefitter for General Motors for 10 years, 2 years as a pipefitter in the construction industry and 10 years as a waterplant operator for Ross, Ohio, he was referred to the Butler County One Stop for career planning assistance. His dream of entering the H.V.A.C field started to become a reality upon referral to Great Oaks. He said, "The program changed my life and made it possible for me to do the things I wanted to do." He started working in Jonle's maintenance department during his training program. After graduation, Jonle hired him as a Service Technician. Since graduation, he has acquired 10 new certifications through Carrier and also received N.A.T.E. certification 2 months ago. He is certified in Core, Heat Pumps and Air Conditioning. Mr. Turner refers students to Great Oaks every chance he gets since the program literally changed his life for the better.
