The law enforcement courses at Great Oaks offer a variety of programs for public and private security Professionals and those wishing to enter the field of private or public policing.
The Great Oaks Police Academy is a state certified (OPOTA) training facility authorized by the Ohio Peace Officers Training Commission. Classes for Basic Peace Officer Certification are held twice yearly and exceed 650 hours.
The Tri-State Regional Community Policing Institute (RCPI) is a collaborative agreement between Great Oaks and the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) , which offers governmental agencies, businesses and industry training in Community Oriented Policing, Crime Prevention, Early Warning ID and Intervention for employees, along with many other programs utilizing the best practices used in the industry today.
Private Security Officer training is 132 classroom hours and can be enhanced with the addition of firearms qualification training accredited by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.
