Success Story:
Mark Chafin successfully completed Great Oaks Ford ASSET/Associate Degree program, which is offered in partnership with Raymond Walters College-UC and participating Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealers, in 1999. Mark graduated from Mt. Healthy High School in 1997 and entered the ASSET program due to a friend's recommendation. He knew he wanted to work in the automotive service and repair business and heard that the Oaks had a great program. Mark says "I want to be the guy who knows how something works. Ford ASSET has given me the opportunity to become that person." Mark achieved Senior Master Certified Ford Technician status in March 2003. This means that Mark is a steering suspension master, engine master, transmission master, and possesses 8 ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications including L1 as of March 2003. His ASSET training gave him the knowledge, skills and abilities to reach his goal and to obtain Volkswagen certification. Mark is an asset to his employer, Fairfield Lincoln Mercury/Volkswagen. Mark's next goal is to become a diesel master technician.
