Welcome to Laurel Oaks. As your Dean of Instruction, I want you to know that our greatest desire at Laurel Oaks is to make sure our students succeed and that they are prepared for a wide range of opportunities—both those that exist now and those that will exist in the future. In today’s world, students need to be prepared for jobs that don’t yet exist and be able to understand and use technologies that haven’t yet been invented in order to solve problems we don’t even know are problems yet.
The future of our nation and our way of life rests with our young adults, and we must challenge them with high expectations, education that has real-world relevance, skills for the future, critical thinking and the desire to keep learning through their lives.
I am committed to the success of every student….that is, the success of your child. That can only happen in partnership with you, and I encourage you to stay in contact with me and with your child’s teachers throughout the coming year.
