Ten Mariemont High School DECA members will compete at the state DECA Career Development Career Conference in March. They qualified for the state competition January 24 and 25 at the District Six DECA District Conference at the University of Cincinnati-Clermont where they competed in events that applied their business, marketing, finance, and entrepreneurial knowledge throughout the day.
The students are part of the Mariemont High School of Business Program offered by Great Oaks Career Campuses.
All competitors took a one-hundred question multiple choice test on marketing concepts and had to perform an impromptu role play situation that dealt with either human relations problem solving, selling, promotion, economic concepts, management decision making, pricing, product development, planning marketing strategies, customer service problem solving or a combination of the above.
The top three qualifiers in the Principles/Team events and the top four qualifiers in Individual Series events advance to the State Career Development Conference in Columbus.
